All three are free apps you can get on your
desktop or smartphone to keep yourself
productive and keep getting stuff done on
a daily basis -
I figured you'd get a kick out of these
so I put together a quick list for you:
(grab a post-it or something and write these down):
#1: Evernote. Imagine if you had a really,
really easy to search notebook that you
could plop pretty much anything into...
that you could access from any computer...
that you could keep all your "to-do's"
and grocery lists in...
that you could even upload photos of documents
to... and it would make the TEXT in those
documents 'searchable'...
That's Evernote in a nutshell, but it does way
more than that and it's free. Killer App, probably
a must have if you're really rocking and rolling
project wise...
#2: Google Calendar. Hate missing meetings
and appointments?
Setup a free account with Google Calendar
and you can have email alerts, text message alerts,
and even little popup alerts triggered before
your meeting even starts.
And of course, you can have your alerts trigger
on your phone if you install the Google Calendar
app :-)
Our whole team uses Google Calendar, and
if it wasn't for those little alerts, I'm sure we'd
both miss about half our meetings due to
distraction - I don't doubt you'd benefit from
it too....
#3: Google Docs. This one's fantastic -
Google docs has been around for a while but
it just keeps getting better - you can put your
Word documents and Excel spreadsheets online
and access them from anywhere...
You can share them with people, you can
let people edit them online (which is GREAT
for collaborating on projects)...
And if you've got a Droid or an iPhone, you
can even access all your files on the run.
All three of these services are free, easy to use,
and they all help you get more done while freeing
you from the trap of the desktop environment...
